Running a Creative Business is not a easy task, but it is something you build everyday with your handwork. I have heard many of my friends saying. I do not have time for this, I am overwhelmed with all I have to do ! , I can’t make my day longer.

I can not survive in my workshop without having my To Do list very visible on my desk. I have too much to do everyday that the only way to keep up with everything is having my TO DO List update.

1. What is a To do list?

It is a piece of paper where you keep a list of all the “little” tasks that you need to finish everyday. A to do list could be as simple or complex as you want.

3. Goals with a To do list:

You can not believe the amazing feeling after you finish your first To-do list !  The goal is keep track of your activities , you can not believe how many tasks are you accomplishing every day and the others you can complete with your mind and To-do list in order.

How do you keep a good To do list?

You do not need fancy papers or notebooks to keep yourself organized, also I DO NOT recommend to have a digital To-do list because takes too much time and effort to keep it. You only need a piece of paper and a pen. It will take you 5 minutes every day to organize your day.

1. Do not have a digital To do list.

2. Before Checking your Store or Email, just before everything Take your To do list. Make a list of 10 basic tasks for your day, do not write more than 10.

3. The first task always should be a task that you have been putting aside. Mine always is cleaning my desk it will take 2 minutes and It will make me feel better.

4. Once you have your Basic 10 tasks, start working using your list. Do not spend time in something is not in your list, and if you need to do it, write it down after the last task.

5. Never write down a task that you can accomplish in less than 2 minutes. (2 Minute rule)

6. Do not write down task too long to accomplish because It will take too long to finish.

For example:  if I need to sew 10 toys today I DO NOT write down in my list

* Sewing 10 toys

Instead I break down that task like this :

*Cut 5 yellow Owl toys

*Cut 5 Brown Owl toys

*Cut ribbon for 5 owls

*Stitch Owls

*Packing my order

*write my thank you note

7. Once you finish one task use a red marker to make a big line on top of it.

soon your list will look like like this :

Clean my desk

*Cut 5 yellow Owl toys

*Cut 5 Brown Owl toys

*Cut ribbon for 5 owls

*Stitch Owls

*Packing my order

*write my thank you note

*Call to the phone company

* Buy felt and ribbon

8. Once you clear all your list or you finish the day, take another paper and use those tasks that you didn’t finish , those will be on the top of your new list.

*Clean my desk

*Stitch Owls

*Packing my order

* Buy felt and ribbon
